At least 13 people were killed and three others reported missing in floods in China, officials said today.
Two persons were killed today in southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region due to Typhoon Utor.
Downpours and floods triggered by the typhoon affected 4.9 lakh people in seven cities in the coastal province, the officials said.
Earlier, 11 people were killed and three others went missing in northeastern Heilongjiang Province over the past six days, they said.
Flood waters destroyed more than 1.4 million hectares of farmland and affected two million people in Heilongjiang, state-run Xinhua reported.
Over 1.41 lakh people were relocated and 2,564 houses collapsed, the report quoted a statement from the provincial civil affairs department as saying.
The department said the floods have caused direct economic losses totalling USD 1.16 billion.
