Senior Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) Rajiv Ranjan in a release said police personnel on regular vehicle checks had intercepted a motor cyclist Mohammed Yousuf from neighbouring Mettupalayam here last night.
They gave chase when he tried to flee and nabbed him. On being questioned he reportedly confessed to have stolen the motorcycle and seven more scooters from different locations.
All the vehicles have been recovered, police said.
The release said that based on a tip-off another police team caught biker Suresh alias Vijaya Rasu from neighbouring Koonichampet village and recovered eight scooters which he also reporteldy confessed to have stolen from different places in Mudaliarpet, Ariyankuppam and Odiansalai.
