A 16-year-old West Bengal girl was allegedly raped by her brother-in-law in Civil Lines area in North Delhi, police said today.
The incident came to light last evening when the girl, who managed to flee from her sister's home, was found crying in Majnu ka Tilla area, and was later brought to Civil Lines police station, an official said.
"According to the girl, the accused forced himself upon her and when she reported the matter to her sister (accused's wife), she also took the sides of her husband," said a police official.
A case has been registered at the Civil Lines police station under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences and section 376 of IPC (rape) in the matter, he said.
The accused has been identified as Raja and efforts are on to nab him, he said.
In another incident, a BPO-employee, who hails from Darjeeling, has registered a case of sexual harassment against her male friend.
The couple had been living in South Delhi's Munirka in a live-in relation for quite some time, police said, adding that the girl has accused the boy of sexually harassing her on the pretext of marriage.
The girl has claimed that the accused, Shahvar Mazid, has been living with her for last three years.
The accused is absconding and efforts are on to nab him, police said.
