17 feared drowned as truck falls into river

Seventeen people are feared to have drowned in river Ghagra after the truck they were travelling in fell into the river in the wee hours today.
The truck on his way from Bahraich to Lucknow fell in the river, breaking the railing of Sanjay bridge on Barabanki-Bahraich road, Superintendent of Police Anand Kulkarni said.
There were 20 people in the truck at the time of accident of which three swam to safety, Kulkarni said, adding that 17 people are feared to have drowned.
Senior officers have reached the spot and efforts were on to trace them.
