The tourists were proceding to Mysore after visiting this tourist town when the van hit the parapet wall at the 36th hairpin bend following brake failure and fell into the gorge resulting in injuries to all the occupants, including the driver.
The injured were taken to different hospitals and after providing first aid they continued their journey to Mysore.
Normally tourists used Gudalur Road to go to Mysore and Kallatti road was used in very rare occasions, police said.
