2.1 kg opium paste seized; two held

A consignment of 2.1 kg opium paste was seized from two smugglers from near the SSB camp office on NH-31 in Bihar's Kishanganj district today and the alleged smugglers were held.
BSF's Intelligence Unit Deputy Commandant Praveen Kumar Ranjan said acting on a tip the unit's personnel intercepted the two smugglers and seized the consignment with street value of Rs. 12.60 lakh.
The accused, natives of Malda district of West Bengal, were on their way to deliver the drugs to a client. The opium paste was hidden in a sack of clothes, he said.
They have been handed over to Kishanganj police, Ranjan added.
