More than 2 tonnes of banned tobacco products, including gutkha, were seized from a godown near here, police said Wednesday.
One person had been taken into custody for interrogation and a search was on for two others in connection with the seizuure made Tuesday night, they said.
The products, totally weighing 2.35 tonnes and valued at Rs 13.72 lakh, were seized during a raid on the godown in Annur, 35 km from here, following a tip off.
Two vehicles allegedly used for the transport of the banned products were also impounded, they added.
