2,812 cases settled at Lok Adalat

A record 2,812 cases were settled through the National Lok Adalat conducted in the district on December 12 and 14, district chairman of Lok Adalat and the district judge M Lakshmi Narayana said today.
There were 16,550 cases pending in the district, the judge said, adding that Lok Adalats will help reduce the pendency.
The cases which were settled involved financial disputes to the tune of Rs 4.88 crore, the judge said.
