A large number of explosives - 41,200 power gel and 37,500 pieces of detonators - were recovered from the truck at Koderma. The vehicle was on its way to Kharsawan under Pakuria police station of Pakur district yesterday, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ashok Kumar Singh said.
Truck driver Arvind Kumar, a resident of Bihar's Sheikhpur and helper Ganesh Kumar of Bihar's Nalanda were arrested today and sent to jail. An FIR was lodged against four persons including the two arrested ones, the DSP said.
The two other accused are truck owner Wahid Ali, a resident of Bihar's Sheikhpura and Rasiqul of Pakur district, the alleged receiver of the consignment who are at large, Singh said.
Asked whether the explosives were meant for mining purpose or Naxalites, Singh said police was investigating the case with all possible angles.
Earlier, acting on a tip-off, the security forces had recovered a truck-load of explosives from Kathikund police station limits last evening.
The Dumka district police along with para-military forces launched a massive anti-Maoist operation in the extremist- affected areas of the district for the past couple of days.
