2 boys drown in pond in Gujarat

Two teenage boys drowned in a pond in the Saurashtra University campus here, fire brigade officials said today.
The incident occurred yesterday in the varsity campus where the duo were on an outing. They found a water pond and went to take a bath in it, Fire Superintendent in Rajkot city V K Ghela said today.
They were unable to guess the pond's depth and drowned, he said.
The deceased have been identified as Om Barad (13) and his friend Harsh Parmar (14), both residents of Ruda area here, he said.
Their bodies were fished out late last evening and sent for post-mortem by police, the officer said.
