2-day seminar begins today

A two-day seminar, aimed at fostering synergy between the Armed Forces and practitioners of Information Communication Technology Electronics and Cyber (ICTEC), began here today.
Eminent speakers from defence forces, industry, academia and reasearch and development organisations are participating in the various technical sessions at the seminar, being held at Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantt area.
The Seminar was inaugurated by the Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen Philip Campose.
The Seminar is an annual event jointly organised by Corps of Signals (Indian Army) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
The 2014 edition of DEFCOM was themed on "Adapting Commercial Technologies for Unifying Information, Communication Technologies, Electronic and Cyber (ICTEC) in Battle Space," an official statement said.
The Indian Army has been in the forefront of adapting commercial technologies for delivering state-of-the-art ICTEC infrastructure to its field formations, it said.
In the past, this seminar has led to absorption of latest technologies by Indian Army in terms of its communication and IT projects, the statement said.
