Locals had gathered in a house for 'terehvi' (a ceremony held on the 13th day after the death of a person) last night, when Jainath Gautam (65) accidentally fell in the well in front of the main door, Circle Officer Abhishek Pandey said.
Manoj Gautam (35) went down the well to rescue him, but both of them drowned, he said.
Both the bodies have been pulled out and sent for post- mortem, the police official said.
