Holding the duo guilty of committing the murder, the court said both the convicts had the intention of causing death of the victim with a country-made pistol and that is why they fired a shot at his forehead.
"Both the convicts are sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life," Additional Sessions Judge T S Kashyap said, while imposing a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of them.
The court spared them the death penalty saying that "it is not the rarest of the rare case" warranting death penalty.
According to the prosecution, North-East Delhi residents Shahid and Nooruddin had shot victim Ikramuddin dead in April 2008, when he along with his friend had gone to tell them not to tease or send obscene messages and make calls to his mother, sister and sister-in-law.
Police said Shahid used to eve-tease the victim's sister and follow her wherever she would go and also used to call up the women of the house and utter obscene words to them.
When Ikramuddin went to Shahid's house, he called his maternal uncle Nooruddin and gave several blows to the victim. Another accused Nawab, who was declared proclaimed offender, took out a pistol and gave it to Nooruddin, who shot at the victim's forehead and they all fled from the spot.
The court said Nooruddin had full knowledge and common intention that his act will kill the victim and Shahid had called him there to teach a lesson to the deceased.
The convict, however, had claimed that Shahid was having an affair with Ikramuddin's sister and the victim's family was against the relation so they implicated him in the case.
