2 militants killed in Pak's Quetta

Two militants belonging to an outlawed Baloch insurgent group were killed by security forces in Pakistan's restive Baloshistan province.
According to Pakistan Army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations, the militants were killed during a search operation yesterday by paramilitary forces in provincial capital Quetta.
"The militants had carried out attacks on the armed forces, planted improvised explosive devices in Quetta, Margate and Sangaan areas of the province and also kidnapped notables for ransom," the ISPR statement said.
The militants were killed two days after three police constables were gunned down by four men on two motorcycles at a checkpoint in Quetta.

Security forces have stepped up operations in the troubled Balochistan province since armed men kidnapped a Chinese couple from Jinnah Town in Quetta in broad daylight on May 24.
