The accused officers identified as Balwindra Kumar and Kulwant Singh, who were posted at Kotli Surat Malhi police station, were booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act after a high level investigation for allegedly accepting bribe to free four persons, they said.
Balwindra had asked one Vishwa Mittar, brother of Rajindra Kumar, who was arrested on March 10, 2013 along with two women and a child under the The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, to deposit Rs 10,000 in his bank account for their release.
