2 suspected NDFB (S) militants held

Two suspected NDFB(S) terrorists, out to recruit new cadres, were today arrested in a joint operation by the Army and the police in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of Assam, Army sources here claimed.
Two pistols and ammunition were recovered from the arrested persons.
These arrested persons were tasked by the organization to recruit new cadres in view of the ongoing operation by the Army in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts, army sources said.
These two individuals had been allegedly involved in extortion in the past and providing information about movement of security forces conducting operations against NDFB(S) in Kokrajhar and Chirang Districts, they said.
In another joint operation with Goalpara police, five "hardcore" GNLA terrorists were apprehended along Assam- Meghalaya border while they were carrying out extortion activities.
Five pistols and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists.
