20 die of Encephalitis in N Bengal in six months

Twenty persons have died of Encephalitis in the last six months in north Bengal, according to North Bengal Development Minister Goutam Deb.
Deb today held a meeting at the North Bengal Medical College with various the NBMC superintendent, standing committee chairman and different self-help groups on how to tackle the disease.
Deb said that out of 20 deaths, 13 were due to acute encephalitis and seven due to Japanese Encephalitis.
A total of 65 persons were admitted to the hospital with the disease, he said adding the number had witnessed a jump in the last three months.
