The incident took place yesterday evening and the victim, identified as Vijay Hindori, was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries today, police said.
The two accused have been apprehended and the police are trying to figure out if more persons from the girl's family were involved in the crime, a police official said.
Vijay met the girl in school and they were in a relationship for the past three years. The girl's family was not happy with the relationship as they belonged to two different communities.
Vijay's mother, however, convinced him to return and the girl was also sent to her family, who locked her in the house and warned her never to meet Vijay.
They allegedly used to beat the girl whenever they found out that the two had met, the official said.
Yesterday evening, Vijay was caught by the girl's brothers when he went to meet the girl, without informing his family. They chased him and allegedly stabbed him five times near his own residence.
