Yogesh, studying in a private college in Noida, went to the fields last night, but did not return home today, his father Yash Pal said in the missing person report lodged at Rabupura police station, SP (Rural) Brijesh Kumar Singh said.
His relatives searched for him, but could not find him, Pal said in his complaint.
Pal said he had received compensation of over Rs 1 crore few days ago after government acquired his land and suspected that his son may have been kidnapped for ransom, the SP said.
Earlier, a boy was reportedly kidnapped in Bisrakh village after his father received compensation of Rs 1 crore, police said.
Police had cracked the case and arrested the kidnappers.
Several other similar cases were reported from Dankaur and Greater Noida areas in the past few years.
