236 child labourers rescued by Mumbai police

In a week-long special drive, the city police have rescued 175 child labourers and 61 child beggars.
The police also arrested 94 persons for employing the child labourers or forcing the children to beg.
The drive was conducted between June 6 and June 12 upon the instruction of the Police Commissioner Dattatray Padasalgikar, a police release said here.
It was conducted to mark the World Day Against Child Labour, observed worldwide on June 12.
