24-year-old gives birth to baby, alleges rape by cousin

A 24-year-old woman has delivered a baby boy after being allegedly raped by her cousin in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, police said today.
They said the woman was admitted in a hospital in the district on Monday and gave birth to a healthy baby.
Police were informed about the case after hospital staff asked about the father of the baby.
During questioning, the woman told the police that she was raped by her cousin in January this year and also that she was unmarried, police said.
The woman lodged a complaint against the accused and he was arrested, they said.

In another incident, a 15-year-old girl has alleged that she was raped at her village in Bhaderwah area during the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday.

A 20-year-old man was arrested yesterday and booked for rape in connection with the case, a police officer said today.
Meanwhile, he said, a man was arrested on the charges of abducting and raping a mother of two in Passiadda village of Doda yesterday.
The woman was going to the market when she was abducted and taken to an isolated place by the accused where he raped her, he said, adding a medical examination of the woman has confirmed rape.
