The woman, identified as Veena, poured kerosene on herself after sending her four-year-old daughter to school in Bada Pachlasa village, police said, adding, she took the extreme step apparently out of depression.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition by family members and villagers where she gave a statement that she wanted to end her life because of her mental sickness, Sub-Inspector, Aspur police station, Mangilal said.
The woman succumbed to her burn injuries after some time of hospitalisation, he said.
Her family members said that she was being treated for mental stress for the last three-four months, the officer said.
