Police have seized 250 cartons of liquor from a truck here and arrested one person.
On a tip-off, the police intercepted a truck on Eastern Peripheral way on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday and made the seizure, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar said.
The driver and owner of the truck managed to flee the spot, the police said, adding the conductor was nabbed.
During interrogation he told the police that 250 cartons country made foreign liquor was taken to Bihar. The smuggled liquor worth Rs 16 lakh rupees has been confiscated.
An FIR has been lodged against the truck owner, driver, helper and two godown owners of Panipat, the officer added.
