The 'nikah' was performed in the district last evening for the victims displaced by the communal riots and currently living in relief camps.
The mass wedding was organised by Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind and the ceremonies were performed by Maulana Syed Arshad Madeni at the residence of a social worker at Shahpur town.
The State Social Welfare Department has provided Rs 1,00,000 to the newly-wed brides and an additional amount of Rs 10,000 was given by the organisers to the brides for their rehabilitation.
