All the workers of the factory, situated in Site-4 Industrial area of Sahibabad, were rushed to a nearby nursing home, police said.
Later, 26 workers were shifted to MMG district hospital and two in a private nursing home, District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma said, adding that the condition of one the employees is stated to be serious.
Narrating the incident, Singh said that the gas leaked due to leakage in a hosepipe valve in refrigeration and packaging unit of the factory.
All the 26 women and two male workers who inhaled the toxic gas complained of nausea, coughing and breathing problems and fainted, he said.
"An FIR for negligence has been registered at Link Road Police Station against factory management and a show cause notice is also being served on them for violation of Factory Act norms," the DM said.
