The accused - Asif (19), Anwar (26) and Jahid (22) - were arrested by a police team based on specific information that the gang was cheating people using US dollar bills, said Veenu Bansal, DCP of North East Delhi.
Police recovered 240 US Dollars, Rs 1,000 in cash and one dummy packet of dollar bills from them.
They were also involved in three cases of cheating and robbery registered at different police stations, police said.
Explaining their modus operandi, the police said the gang used to target shopkeepers. After purchasing goods, they would express their inability to pay in local currency and offer to pay in US dollars.
