Advocate attacked by gang dies

An 31-year-old advocate, who was attacked with an iron rod at a bar at Chitaiyyan Kottai in this district died without responding to treatment today.
The advocates of all the courts here boycotted the court to protest against the murder of the advocate Jammal Mohammed, who got recently married.
Police said the advocate had won the contract for rearing fish in a local tank at Tamarai Kulam. There was enemity between the advocate and his rivals who lost the contract.
The rival gang had called the advocate for talks to the liquor bar. A brawl broke out between the advocate and others in the bar when he was hit by an iron rod late last night. The gang later escaped.
