The three were arrested on charges of transporting the explosives "meant for digging well" without valid documents, two days after the seizure of 100 detonators, 40 gelatine sticks and two fuse wires from the bus coming from Gundlupet in Karnataka at Kakkanallah check post.
On information given by one Mahendran of Pandalur, who was detained for interrogation on February 18 itself, two more persons, hailing from Gundlupet, were picked up and all the three were arrested this morning, police said.
However, police today said the explosives were being taken to dig a well in Pandalur area and there was no valid document to transport or possess them.
