Three country made rifles, 47 crude bombs and Rs 2,000 in cash were seized today from five persons at the outskirts of Dharmaram village in the district, police said.
The five were nabbed on a tip off and the rifles, bombs and cash seized from them, Superintendent of Police B K Rahul Hegde told reporters at the nearby town of Sircilla.
He said one of those nabbed, Jabbar, on being questioned, confessed to making the rifles and bombs.
The other four purchased the rifles from him and agreed to pay the amount for the bombs at the time of delivery, he said.
When Jabbar brought the weapons and bombs to the outskirts of the village today to give it to the others, he was arrested, the SP said.
A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Arms act was registered against the five persons, the SP said, adding they would be produced before a local court.
