The Birbhum administration will press helicopters for air surveillance as part of the vigil along the 35 km-long border with Jharkhand to avert any untoward incident during the third phase of elections.
"The surveillance will begin from Monday and continue for three days and help us track if insurgents assemble or try to create any trouble," SP Rasid Munir Khan said.
Birbhum shared the border with Dumka district of the neighbouring state.
The concerned district has been asked to seal the border from their end.
The move followed the Maoist attack in the district few days back.
