3 held in Basdroni shootout, injured builder critical

Kolkata Police today arrested three persons in connection with the shootout at Basdroni in the southern part of the city that left one builder critically injured.
The Accused trio Johny Ganguly, Mona and Sushanta Naskar were arrested in connection with last night's shootout in Regent Park Police Station area in which builder Rajiv Nandy was badly injured, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
Nandy was seriously injured when he was shot in his abdomen after a quarrel in a party. He is in critical state at a private hospital.
The incident occurred late last night when local contractor Nandy went to have dinner on invitation of another builder Biswajit Poddar in Jayasree area of Basdroni, a senior officer said.

"They were having a rooftop party when suddenly there was a quarrel which turned into a scuffle. The fight could be over control on a builders' syndicate in the locality," he said.
