3 killed in separate train mishaps

A 25-year-old woman and her infant were run over by a train today while trying to cross the railway tracks at Kalyanpuri railway station here, police said.
Nisha Devi was trying to cross the railway tracks with her 8-month-old son when they were hit by a running goods train, SHO Santosh Singh said, adding both died on the spot.
Meanwhile, an hour before this mishap, a 30-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at the same railway station.
The incident occurred around 9 AM when Anand Awashti jumped in front of an approaching train on the railway crossing, Singh said, adding the relatives claimed he took the extreme step due to unemployment.

He said the bodies have been sent for postmortem and further investigation is underway.
