Three loaders of a private aviation services company have been arrested for allegedly stealing eight high-end mobile phones from the cargo shipment of a Bhutan Airlines flight at the Indira Gandhi International airport here.
The main accused, Amit, who worked as a loader with BWFS (Bird Worldwide Flight Services) was caught by the IGI airport police after his activities were found to be suspicious during investigation, Dinesh Kumar Gupta, DCP(IGI) said.
He admitted to stealing the mobile phones with the help of two other loaders, Puran Lal and Sonu. All the three have been arrested, he said.
A complaint was lodged with the police by Bhutan Airlines station manager at IGI airport regarding the stolen mobile phones on July 9 and a case was registered in this connection at the airport police station, the officer said.
The trio during interrogation said that they stole the mobile phones from the cargo shipment bound to Bhutan on July 2, and kept bricks in place of the stolen items, he added.
