Pakistani law enforcement agencies claimed to have arrested three suspected terrorists of the dreaded Islamic State (IS) militant group here.
Police sources said two of the arrested suspects - Asmatullah and Abdur Rehman - belong to Afghanistan while the third one Muhammad Ibrahim is from Punjab province.
They said intelligence agencies intercepted a telephone call of the suspected terrorists and arrested them during a raid at their hideouts in the outskirts of this eastern city yesterday.
"Laptops containing their links with Daesh (IS) leaders, maps of sensitive buildings in Punjab province and hate literature have been recovered from them," police said.
The suspects have been shifted to an unidentified location for interrogation.
Meanwhile, Lahore police have taken 20 "Afghan suspects" into custody during a search operation in the Raiwind area where the residences of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif are located.
"We have taken some 20 suspects into custody in Raiwind city for not having identification papers. Most of them are Afghans," police officer Zahid Nawaz Marwat said.
