The mishap took place after a jeep carrying about a dozen passengers collided with a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ravi Ranjan said.
While four occupants of the ill-fated jeep died on the spot, six others sustained injuries. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured admitted to Sadar hospital for treatment where the condition of two of them was stated to be critical.
