300 students of a private engineering college have been booked for alleged brick-batting and creating a ruckus during a protest here, police said.
An FIR was registered against the unidentified students for indulging in brick-batting during a protest on Lucknow -Faizabad highway yesterday, they said.
Scores of students had held a demonstration outside their college to protest against the death of a fellow student, who was killed in a road accident on October 8.
They demanded compensation and construction of a speed breaker on the road.
However, upon being stopped, the students turned violent, created a ruckus and indulged in brick-batting, injuring several policemen, including a sub-inspector, police said.
The FIR was registered late last night at Chinhat police station, they said.
