4 dead as man gives poison to family, kills self

A 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide here after giving poison to his wife and two daughters, resulting in the death of all.
The incident took place in Charkop area of western suburbs during the intervening night of October 1 and 2.
Harish Soni (40) gave poison to his wife Rupal and daughters Bhumika (9) and Kanishka (7), said DCP (Detection-I) Mohan Dahikar.
Harish himself committed suicide by consuming the poison, he said.
"Prima facie we have learnt that Harish was heavily in debt, due to which he may have taken the drastic step," the police officer said.
Charkop police are probing the case.
