People were playing colour when a scuffle started on issue of a group of people beating a boy. Two of the villagers, Neeraj and his cousin Dheeraj tried to save the child and asked the other group to leave the boy, they said.
According to eyewitnesses, interruption by the two changed the situation and the group, also from the same village, entered into a fight with Neeraj and Dheeraj.
But after few hours, a group of over 20 people came on two SUVs and five motor bikes and opened fire on Neeraj and Dheeraj.
Neeraj, 22, received multiple bullet wounds while Dheeraj was attacked with some sharp edged weapon on his head and also received a bullet injury, police said, adding that in an attempt to save the duo, their aunt Mukesh came in front and was seriously injured.
Also, a 9-year-old Vidit, a relative of Neeraj and Dheeraj, also received bullet injuries as he was playing in the where firing was going on.
Vidit is admitted in Asian Hospital Faridabad.
All the four are said to be in serious condition, said Pritpal, SHO Police Station and Sadar Ballabgarh.
The officer said that family have confirmed that there was no old enmity between the two parties.
