An expensive smartphone and a ladies' handbag containing Rs 2,420 and documents have been recovered from them during surprise checks conducted at several metro stations, they said.
While the 26-year-old woman was arrested for pickpocketing a wallet, a man was caught while trying to pick pocket at Rajiv Chowk station. An iPhone was recovered from him, police said.
Two more suspected pickpockets were arrested from Raja Garden Metro station, they said.
"Surprise checks are made at random to curtail unlawful activities in Metro," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav.
