"As many as 49 workers of PDP joined National Conference at Damhal Hanjipora in (the) presence of Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo yesterday," the spokesman said.
Describing the joining of PDP workers in National Conference as a "major jolt" for the main opposition, the spokesman said they were motivated by the people friendly policies of the government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The minister welcomed the PDP workers into the party fold and said "National Conference will give due honour to each worker".
She asked them to serve the people and spread the programmes and policies of the National Conference and coalition government at the grassroots level.
