Rebia has finalised to hold the meet after an hour long discussion with Lok Sabha member from Sikkim and Globe India Secretary General P D Rai at Arunachal Bhawan in New Delhi yesterday, an official release said here.
The Legislators' Meet at SMDS provides a platform for legislators from mountain states to voice their common issues and concerns and to deliberate and make an action plan for climate change legislation.
The Speaker also sought presence of MPs, MLAs in the meet to discuss the current status of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations and India's stance on the climate change legislation.
More than 80 legislators and MPs are expected to attend the meet this year.
In Itanagar, Sustainable Development Forum of Arunachal Pradesh (SDFA) will assist the Steering Committee to implement the programme, the release added.
