5 injured over land dispute in Assam

The five were injured when one Sanjoy Baruah attacked them with a matchet at Porakuchi village under Nalbari police station, police sources said.

Basanta Baruah (65), his wife Sabya Baruah (55) and three sons Bipul Baruah (38), Rabin Baruah (36) and Tapan Baruah (33) were injured in the clash, the sources said.

Two seriously injured were shifted to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), while the rest were admitted to a local hospital.

Sanjoy Baruah has been arrestted, the sources added.
