According to the officials, the drug was hidden in the toilet of Pakistan International Airline's flight PK-787.
This is not the first time customs drug enforcement and anti-narcotics officers have foiled bids to smuggle drugs out of the country via PIA flights.
In March, 2013 the Anti Narcotics Force had arrested at least three people and seized three kilogram heroin from their possession.
In June 2012, around 4.5 kilogrammes of heroin was seized from a PIA aircraft in Karachi that was departing for London via Lahore and the airport staff has been identified as prime suspects.
