5 kg landmine recovered

A joint security team of CRPF and police today recovered a 5 kg landmine planted by Maoists from under the Bolkunda bridge in the Lalgarh area of West Midnapore district, a senior police officer said.
Superintendent of Police of West Midnapore Bharati Ghosh said the joint team of CRPF and district police recovered the 5 kg challenger landmine from under the Bolkunda bridge which is very close to the Jitika forest of Lalgarh, which was once the stronghold of the Maoists.
The landmine has been defused by the bomb disposal squad, the SP added.
