Three people were killed and eight injured in a tanker-tempo collision near the Ambedkar Park culvert under Pipri police station this morning, police said.
Three passengers of the tempo -- Raja Ram (55), Vikas Gupta (21) and an unidentified woman -- were killed in the incident, they added.
The injured were admitted to a hospital from where, three of them, whose condition was stated to be serious, were referred to Varanasi, police said.
In another accident, two motorcyclists were killed after being hit by a truck at the Hindwari turn under Robertsganj police station last night, police said, adding that one of the deceased was identified as Amarnath (35).
