A five-year-old girl was killed while her aunt and her son were injured after a car hit them in east Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area, police said today.
Sandhya, her aunt Lekha Bharti (24) and her five-year-old son Naitk were returning from a nearby medical store when a car hit them.
The girl was crushed under the wheels of the car while Bharti and her son were thrown a few metres away, the police said.
They were rushed to a hospital, where Sandhya was declared brought dead.
Her aunt and cousin were later referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. While Bharti is out of danger, her son is stated to be in a critical condition, the police said.
The 27-year-old accused, a property dealer, was arrested.
Sandhya was living with her aunt and uncle for the last two months after her mother had passed away. Her father works as a contractual labourer in Sultanpur.
