The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested a Special Armed Force (SAF) jawan and seized 51 kgs of poppy husk from him, officials said on Wednesday.
The poppy husk was seized by the NCB team from a luxury car, which was sporting a sticker of the police department, from Gangrar Square at Chittorgarh-Jaipur highway in Rajasthan on Tuesday afternoon, NCB's Deputy Commissioner Pramod Singh said here.
The team arrested a Madhya Pradesh SAF jawan, Mahendra Singh Parihar, who was transporting the contraband, Singh said.
Parihar, a resident of Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, is currently posted in the SAF at Ujjain, he added.
The accused has been booked and arrested under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
