55-year-old woman bludgeoned to death

A 55-year-old woman was bludgeoned to death by unknown assailants inside her residence in south Delhi this evening, police said.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Madhu, a resident of Khidki Extension in Malviya Nagar. The incident took place around 6 PM.
"We received a PCR call from the neighbours of the deceased saying there was some commotion in the house. When we reached the spot, the woman was found lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to AIIMS Hospital where she was declared brought dead," said a police official.
It seems that her head was hit with a hammer and she succumbed to the head injuries caused by it, he said.

Madhu was a widow. Her daughter-in-law Rachna was present at the spot.
"Personal enmity could be the motive behind the murder. We are suspecting that family members could also be involved. A case of murder has been registered and investigations are on," police said.
