"The objective of this exercise is to create and prepare a database of private security workforce in Delhi," said Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Ray, while giving details of the status of grant of licences to the security agencies.
"After all the licenced security agencies have furnished online information, we shall have a database of approximately 65,000-70,000 security guards in Delhi, which will be a great help to the government," he said.
He informed that out of 108 cases received from NHRC, the Delhi government has given replies or submitted reports in 55 cases while 53 cases are pending for submission of reply by Home Department.
Apart from this 1,000 NHRC references have been sent to different departments for replies.
Apart from this, the reconstruction of fire headquarters at Connaught Place has also been sanctioned.
"At present 56 fire stations are functional in the city and six new fire stations are being constructed," he said.
