6 city Durga Puja organisers bag Serar Sera award of WB Govt

The West Bengal state government today announced six Durga Puja organisers in the Kolkata region as joint winners under the Serar Sera category as a part of the Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman.
Chetla Agrani Sangha, Suruchi Sangha, 75 Pally of Bhowanipore, Rajdanga Nabouday Sangha, Naktala Udayan Sangha and Dhakuria Sarbojonin (Babubagan) have been adjudged the Serar Sera winners, secretary Information and Cultural Affairs Atri Bhattacharya told reporters here.
Vivekananda Park Athletic Club and Tala Barowari were jointly awarded the second best while Chakraberia Sarbojonin Durgoutsav was third in the Serar Sera category, he said.
The state government has been giving awards to Puja organisers in the city and the districts since coming to power in 2011 and this year it would give awards to puja organisers abroad as well as to organisers outside Bengal.

"We have received 1,500 applications from all over the world for the Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman. Today we are announcing the winners for the Kolkata region. After Dussera we will announce the winners of the districts, other Indian cities and abroad," Bhattacharya said.
Meanwhile, Tridhara Sammilani and Salt Lake FD Block have been declared as joint winners of the Sera Mandap category followed by Mudiali Club in the second place and Ultadanga Sangrami and Behala Notun Dal as joint winners of the third place, he added.

Sera Shilpi: Jointly first - Ajaye Sanhoti and 95 Pally (Jodhpur Park); Jointly second - Beltala Road Shaktisangha and Telenganabagan Sarbojonin; Third - Beltala Bokulbagan. Sera Abishkar: First - Alipore Sarbojonin; Jointly second - Nalin Sarkar Street and 25 Pally Sarbojonin Durgoutsav Committee (Khidderpore); Jointly third - Bhowanipore Muktodal, Vivekananda Youth Club and Kolahol.
